Having three daughters, documenting their childhood, with pictures is a real priority for me.

But I really do not have enough knowledge about how to take good photos – I have always relied on the automatic settings on my camera and photos seemed normal. In an attempt to learn more about photography, I bought this book along with two others.

The book is certainly the most useful for me. I was having difficulty packing my mind around the concepts of aperture and ISO, but this book really helped me to understand! Each picture listed shutter speed, aperture and ISO, which helped me to see that these things were done to affect the picture looked. In addition, the pictures were so encouraging and gave me tons of ideas on the composition.

Assignments at the end of each chapter were useful in developing their skills.

The book was very pleasant to read, and it is certainly a book for parents who want to become better photographers! My only wish is that this photo also shows the type of lens was used (so that I could buy it and the lenses that professionals use!).

Put this wonderful book to your cart and click the “buy” as soon as possible. I want to I had such a wonderful tool 20 years ago, when I started the business a portrait of my children. Each chapter is really guide you through the tools that you need to succeed in making an impressive image of children.

If you take it seriously, and make an appointment, you can just start seeing things in a different light, so to speak.

If you just want to get fancy images of your child when he passes through the stages of childhood, or if you really intend to make the photos more than a passion, and business, then this book will transport you to the desired level. Each page will give you pleasure for amazing images of children. Various contributing photographers offer individual treatments for their subjects to show you different that plesaing. Read it, work it, absorb it and find its place in this exciting field. I can not get enough of the eternal beach portraits contained in Chapter 7.

Get this book if you have any interest at all in the pictures of children. Photos of beautiful and inspiring – none of those cheesy, high outbreak of severe filter shots so depressingly common in this genre. I am very proud that some of my photos included in this beautifully written and illustrated book. I looked at others of its kind and advice is usually really obvious. Not so here. Even professional photographers, children will learn from this book – I have been in my life at this for 10 years and still picked up something for herself.

I thought this book was a good read.

It covers many issues in the field of photography and gives the highlights and tips on many fronts.

I was disappointed with their treatment of the depth of field, which is that the center of attention.

They argue that the diaphragm (aperture) determines the depth of field, and discuss it over several pages.

It was only 196 pages, where they note that the focal length affects depth of field. Focal length of the discussion should be in the depth of field discussion. With a wide angle lens you are going to have long depth of field, as well as using a telephoto lens, you’ll have a shallow depth of field. Many authors make this mistake and send the fans wild goose chase, since they do not have the proper lens to get the depth of field they want.

Below are the notes I took for himself in this book. I hope you find them useful.

The shutter speed can freeze any movement, or cause erosion.

The faster the shutter speed, the more likely to freeze the motion. On the high end:

Stop F (aperture) affects the depth of field
* F / 8 to f/22 prepare a long-term depth of field, that is, many things are in the spotlight, it is called as shooting closed.
* For a short depth of field that makes the subject pop out and the background more blurry to use larger apertures. Most of the photos in this book were shot between the F / 1. 4 and F / 5. 6. This is called shooting wide.

In the chapter on natural light, is called “See the Light”, the authors use of natural light, sweet and light the first hour of sunlight per day and last hour. There is also a chapter on the manipulation of the flash of light, light modifiers, white balance, and studio lighting. Using the camera flash as the main source of light is almost always a mistake. Cosmetic ads shot from the front or flat lighting, because it creates a shadow: light, which masks the shortcomings. Rembrandt lighting is obtained by placing your question in 45-degree angle of your light source, such as windows. In the studio world, the closer they are to the subject, the softer they appear.

In composition, keep it simple and make it closer. Watch for the dark things in the light of the space, and vice versa.

The negative space empty space around the issue, which works to emphasize. Do not cut off the hands and feet. Either the increase in the head and shoulders, or lower, to get their hands, or to reduce more and get the entire body, including legs.

* 12mm wide angle – a good place for large groups of < br /> * 50mm Standard – that is what the eye can see
* 105 telephoto lens – are often considered ideal for portraits (finally!)
* 200mm telephoto lens – good for the blurring of the background and approaches to action

This book was wonderful, helping me understand what I was doing wrong and how to do it right. I was a closet photographer for most of my life, and was disappointed by many of my efforts, mostly because I do not know what I’m doing wrong or how to change it. When I had my son, I began to photograph him on the neck of the rate of break, and when I got a good shot every 20-30 pictures, I was looking at a better return on my efforts. This book is the key to this. Photos in the book, in fact, beautiful. I highly recommend this book.
